Shadows fall around my visage broken. <br />Sinking into me. <br />Trapt inside my body, god has spoken. <br />I drift into the sea. <br /> <br />Unknown and unknowing I follow my own road. <br />I’m oft told where it leads. <br />But never knowing where I’ve strode. <br />My confusion it feeds. <br /> <br />Seeds sprout and strangle the light inside. <br />I fight them every second. <br />But there’s only so much I can hide. <br />Unable to be reckoned. <br /> <br />I tear my wings asunder, blood drips to the ground. <br />Unable to return. <br />The boom of a falling angel, mistaken is the sound. <br />The truth I finally learn. <br /> <br />Cast out and broken, I turn into something more. <br />Falling up. <br />More evil and uncaring, than anything I’ve felt before. <br />Deaths sweet cup. <br /> <br />Pressing out my anger, I explode anew. <br />Despair comes with a cost. <br />A fallen angels wings, a wrath that grew. <br />My purpose truly lost. <br /> <br />My wings as black as my heart, I seethe. <br />I’ve fallen, from the sky. <br />The loss of mercy, once more I grieve. <br />So into the night, I fly.<br /><br />Devin Iven<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/falling-up-5/
