When life's evening shadows fall,
And black spectra Death comes to call,
i shall not try to flee nor fight nor rail,
Nor fear that bony face so pale!

He has always been close by my side,
And now his wishes will decide,
if i linger here for a moment or a day,
And i shall not ask if i can stay!

instead i will reach and grasp his hand,
Knowing full well he will understand,
That he is welcome to take from me,
This life, so i will no longer be!

He knows that i no longer wish to see,
A race with lack of humanity,
One that has replaced integrity with greed,
And seems to be the majorities creed!

Returned to atoms from whence i came,
With no deity to place any blame,
This composite we call us is a bust,
And all will be at some point dust!

Franklin J.
