Friendships are irrelevant, <br />there is nothing eternal in trivial things. <br />Friends do what suit's the independant people, <br />Independant people do not suit as friends. <br /> <br />Loyalty only lasts as long as your utility. <br />Declare me cynical for declaring the truth, <br />I would rather be a cynic than a deceiver, <br />I would rather be alone, <br />than place my trust in something that never was. <br /> <br />Friends come together, united in the falsehood, <br />that everyone likes everyone, <br />but everyone talks about everyone, <br />nobody really likes everyone, <br />everyone is not your friend. <br /> <br />I grow weary of those people, <br />who smile at faces they say they hate, <br />the names on cards of people who don't really care, <br />I am not cynical of 'friendships' <br />how can I? <br />When they were never really there.<br /><br />Rachel Henley<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-cynics-view-of-friendships/
