Three kinds of writer, three there are: <br />Meteors, Planets and Fixed Stars. <br />The first burst bright upon the scene, <br />Then fade, are no more heard nor seen. <br /> <br />The second hold for longer sway, <br />So some them for Fixed Stars mistake. <br />They speak but to their peers, their age, <br />At length they too vacate their place. <br /> <br />Besides, their light is not their own, <br />But borrowed from elsewhere on loan. <br />To one sole nation they belong, <br />Their relevance does not stretch beyond. <br /> <br />The Fixed Stars only do not change, <br />Endure beyond one day or age, <br />With their own light undimming shine, <br />For every nation and all time. <br /> <br />Yet placed are they at such great height, <br />That many years must pass before <br />The eyes of we who dwell on earth <br />Are reached by their inspiring light. <br /> <br />12/8/13<br /><br />Denys E.
