I saw an old man from Mozambique

He always giggled -fiq fiq

His eyes were caves his nose was like a brinjal

His cheeks were pools and his Adam's apple was a ball

He didnot sleep for nights together

He didnot eat for days and nights together

His tummy was hollow

But his face was mellow

And alight with happiness

He beat his breast and bragged that

He has a son who is as good as gods

The boy is all love

His object of love is all the world

He is without in the world

Aworking with some computer company

He is at my heart

And so wherever I go I am peace

I dont covet a flat in paradise

I dont mind a dungeon in inferno

Because wherever I am I am in heaven

Even heaven perhaps falls short if where I am

Oh The ugly old man from Mozambique

Dr. Ramesh Chandra Mukhopadhyaya

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-happy-old-man-from-mozambique/
