The Mind Thief <br /> <br />Like a vine that slowly creeps <br />Into a crevice in cragged stone, <br />The Mind Thief robs the unwilling mind <br />Of all the memories it has ever known. <br /> <br />Slowly and painfully the thief envades <br />Where the joys of life all play, <br />And quietly leaves its' deadly trail <br />Stealing moments from each day. <br /> <br />Now fading into the dark of night <br />The thief imposes his will. <br />The mind once rich and full of life <br />Is now so quiet and still. <br /> <br />Only a shadow of what used to be, <br />Now fades to a living hell. <br />What was before, a vibrant mind, <br />Is now an empty shell. <br /> <br />The fire that once burned brightly, <br />Its' embers now are gone. <br />Imprisoned in the mind it has stolen, <br />The Mind Thief sits alone. <br /> <br />By Richard Netherland Cook<br /><br />Richard Netherland Cook<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-mind-thief/
