ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />STORY: Close to 300 protesting fishermen in Quintero, Chile, barricaded city streets and clashed with police on Wednesday.<br/> <br />Police fired tear gas and water to disperse the protesters, while demonstrators hurled rocks back at authorities.<br/> <br />The fishermen were protesting an alleged breach of agreement on behalf of ENAP, Chile's national oil company, following an oil spill that occurred on September 24.<br/> <br />The demonstrators claim that ENAP has not fulfilled its promises to assist in the clean up effort following the spill.<br/> <br />The oil spill occurred when intake hoses broke away from an ENAP tanker. As a result, approximately 22,000 liters (4839 UK gallons) of oil was dumped into Quintero Bay, causing extensive damage to marine life in the area and adversely affecting the livelihood of local fishermen.
