Security is being tightened in Jerusalem after three attacks in which vehicles have been used to slam into pedestrians.<br /><br />Barriers have been erected at bus and tram stations after a<br />member of Hamas drove a minivan into a crowd. <br /><br />One policeman died and a dozen people were hurt. The driver was shot dead.<br /><br />One commuter, Amy Sarousi, said:<br />“I feel safer today that I see that they have the roadblocks. I hope that I don’t have to stand behind them all the time but at least you know they are there.<br /><br />Passenger Sarah Haber said: “I think it’s crazy that that’s what we have to do, that we have to start putting up barriers next to train stations, next to bus stops.”<br /><br />Just hours after the minivan attack in Jerusalem, the Israeli military says a Palestinian motorist drove into a group of soldiers in the West Bank, injuring three.<br /><br />And in a previous car attack a woman and a baby were killed.<br /><br />The atmosphere in Jerusalem is tense with clashes also breaking out at the Al Aqsa mosque compound.
