I had a sudden, great desire to see again <br /> the one who lived and saw with inner light <br /> and loved infallibly. <br /> <br /> The airport, where so many times I glimpsed <br /> his anxious, noble face among the crowds, <br /> now bore no trace; <br /> <br /> I searched in vain in all his daily haunts: the <br /> shops, the place of worship where, along with others, <br /> he performed his prayers; <br /> <br /> Today his face did not appear. <br /> <br /> The room where he passed many happy hours <br /> was very silent, very still; but now at last <br /> I feel completely assured of his presence. <br /> <br /> My desire to see the face of my beloved father <br /> was overwhelming, as was my desire to hear his voice; <br /> What was it he wished so urgently to say/ <br /> <br /> But a force called earth had stopped his voice <br /> for evermore.<br /><br />A.
