I love this country I grew up in <br />My thoughts are very strong <br />If we're not entitled to inhibit it <br />Where did we go wrong <br />It must have been the fork in the road <br />We took the wrong track, <br />After traveling so far with uncertainty <br />We finally had to turn back <br />Upon return I was surprised to find <br />For compition we were to late <br />For life's treasures and well being <br />There's nothing that will compensate <br />Give me here, give me there <br />Don't worry I've got mine <br />As the world goes by, in the twinkling of an eye <br />You have been left behind <br />We ruined the land with pesticides <br />We cut down all the trees <br />Now there's nothing left to pass on <br />But empty promises<br /><br />David E.
