Just the smell of soap still makes her sick. <br />He'd confuse her with his smooth rhetoric. <br />And he pretended he'd bathe her tonight. <br />But, when he came near all she felt was fright. <br />He spoke of love, but violated her. <br />And he would tell her what good friends they were. <br />It's just our secret he would always say. <br />Our bonds will die if you give us away. <br />The girl left home before she was quite raised. <br />Her dad the Baptist preacher people praised. <br />Now he is dead and she's not even sad. <br />For all her life he made her feel so bad.<br /><br />Dorothy B.
