If the Lord only had his own television show, <br />To the top of the ratings I am sure it would go. <br />He would give us an insight of all that is wrong, <br />And teach all of the nations how to get on. <br />His actors would be angels, spirits and guides, <br />Who would give good advice and take no sides. <br />The performance they give would be very compelling, <br />As the message is love, that's the thing they are selling. <br />It would show this world in a terrible light. <br />It would show those things that we push out of sight. <br />It's content would show fighting and war, <br />And people who are dying by the score <br />Of hunger and illness and poverty too, <br />And everyone wondering what they should do. <br />The rivers are polluted and the air's turning grey. <br />And the suffering of animals grows day by day. <br />I pray and I pray that the Lord is Hi-tech, <br />As we continue our world to wreck <br />It's only on telly he could show his disdain, <br />And then we might start to begin over again.<br /><br />Tony Winters<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/coming-attractions/
