(This is a fictional poem) <br /> <br />I'm a pediatrician and today one of my patients died. <br />When I told the parents, they fell apart and cried. <br />I felt so sorry for the parents after I told them. <br />I did all I could for their son but I couldn't save him. <br />I've lost about ten kids over the years. <br />I feel so helpless when I see the parents burst into tears. <br />When I'm able to save a child, I feel really great. <br />But when I lose a child, it's something that I really hate. <br />I know that I'm not God, I know that I can't save them all. <br />But when each child dies, it makes me a little more bitter and appalled. <br />I can't save them all but I sure do try. <br />It's not fair when a child dies.<br /><br />Randy Johnson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/it-s-not-fair-when-a-child-dies/
