Like Crusoe, walking by the lonely strand <br />And seeing a human footprint on the sand, <br />Have I this day been startled, finding here, <br />Set in brown mould, and delicately clear, <br />Spring's footprint--the first crocus of the year! <br />O sweet invasion!
