(This is a fictional poem) <br /> <br />A little girl was in the highway and she was about to be hit by a speeding truck. <br />I pushed her out of the way in the nick of time but I got struck. <br />When that truck hit me, it sent me to be with the Lord. <br />I saved that little girl's life and now Heaven is my reward. <br />Up here there is no illness and everybody is kind to one another. <br />Now that little girl is grown up and she just became a mother. <br />People probably mourned when they learned that I was gone. <br />I had to pay with my life but at least I gave that sweet girl a chance to live on.<br /><br />Randy Johnson<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-had-to-pay-with-my-life/
