Forever single <br />This isn’t about self pity, although I’m pitiful <br />This isn’t about depression, although I’m depressed <br />This isn’t about grief, although I’m grieving <br />This isn’t about misery, although I’m miserable <br />And it’s not about rejection, although I’m rejected <br />This is for those who will be forever single <br /> <br />I am bound to be forever single <br />I had a perfect love and I fucked it up <br />To the biggest extent of the word and then times that by 10 <br />“FUCKED IT UP” will never explain what I did <br />Such petty words can’t shine light on something so shaded <br />At the time I thought this love thing was over rated <br />I pulled the plug and look what it got me <br />Pessimism, depression, grief, misery, u name it I got it <br />The problem is that now I am forever branded by her and her by me <br />Wide open pain for everyone to see <br />Everyone sees it and knows to stay back <br />A nice little sign that says “this guy is whack” <br />Can’t say that I don’t disagree <br />I threw away a perfect love so yeah shame on me <br />I don’t deserve any love or laughter <br />From this day forth and any there after <br />So the jury cast me into exile <br />And exiled I shall be <br />Forever single <br />Alone <br />Just me<br /><br />Christopher Taber<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/forever-single/
