I’m sitting by a windmill, <br />In a hurricane it seems, <br />I feel that I’ve been here before, <br />Or was it in my dreams. <br /> <br />I watch it quickly turning, <br />Just going round and round, <br />The gale it seems to deafen, <br />The windmill makes no sound. <br /> <br />I sit in fascination, <br />My mind just blown away, <br />I should be heading home now, <br />The windmill makes me stay. <br /> <br />To stay awhile in solitude, <br />And let my thoughts run free, <br />I’m caught up in the hurricane, <br />The windmill’s part of me. <br /> <br />It now seems never ending, <br />A bit like life, you see, <br />Just going round in circles, <br />The windmill now, is me.<br /><br />Linda Harnett<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/windmills/
