Night hovers over me as dark invades the safeness of my room. <br />I feel alone, yet not lonely, still I seek the solace of the moon. <br /> <br />Snow falls silently as I gaze through frosted window panes. <br />Night hovers even closer now, as sleep I seek in vain. <br /> <br />It's then I feel your presence 'round me as thoughts of the day go by. <br />You tenderly move in closer as moonlight slips across my eyes. <br /> <br />I know you're here, moonlight brought you, even though you're far away. <br />''I know you're here, ' I whisper. ' Did moonlight bring you here to stay? ' ' <br /> <br />I wait for sleep, silence grows, still I feel your presence near. <br />It's then I hear your tender voice speaking gently in my ear. <br /> <br />'It's not the solace of the moon you seek, it's the solace of my heart'. <br />You take my face in your warm, smooth hands and vow we'll never part. <br /> <br />I dream the moonlight caresses us, as we lie with hearts entwined. <br />I hear you softly say to me, 'You always will be mine.' <br /> <br />Then starlight shines upon us, our hearts and souls rejoice. <br />Is this a dream I'm dreaming? I listen closely for your voice. <br /> <br />I fall to sleep, sleep deeper still, and then I hear you say, <br />'You've touched my soul, sweet dreams to you.' <br />I feel you slip away. <br /> <br />The sun is slowly rising as sleepily I raise my head. <br />And as I peek through frosted windows of the night before, <br />I think of all the things I should have, could have said. <br /> <br />It's then I hear you say to me, <br />'It's cold out there, come snuggle in our bed with me.' <br /> <br />Moonlight laughs. <br />Star giggles with delight. <br />Sun gives a winking know. <br />It's strange the dreams we dream when we know we're not alone.<br /><br />Lucinda Myer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dreams-32/
