Brown eyes of shining loyalty, <br />she even blinks and looks 'Chinese'. <br />Her origin is royalty, <br />the kingdom of the pesky fleas. <br />This is how All the girls should be: <br />Adore me, morning, noon and night, <br />and not talk back annoyingly, <br />no matter what I do or might <br />consider to be fair today. <br />She's happy for my table scraps <br />and always eager to obey. <br />She loves to join me during naps. <br />You ask about this 'woman's lib', <br />suspecting that I keep a slave, <br />of hairy leg and purplish lip. <br />These attributes requiring brave <br />and overflowing self-esteem, <br />which she possesses, and her zest: <br />Her favourite habit, it would seem <br />is smelling crotches of our guests. <br /> <br />This story has a happy end. <br />And it is shorter, maybe sweet. <br />I do agree that man's best friend, <br />a female dog, is hard to beat.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/she-licks/
