Slaves of the night, <br />Take a nap. <br />Hot milk rested my fight, <br />Pillow talk through my dreams. <br />Dreamcatcher swings over my head, <br />Catching the raven that sweeps low into my mind. <br />Cries from another world take me back, <br />Voices are heard, <br />Wizards are at play, <br />Wisdoms have thrown out the book. <br />Sleepless wonders fill the head, <br />The jester lost his head long ago. <br />Dreamcatcher won’t you take these wonders? <br />That keep me from sleep. <br />I don’t want to write a million dollar fantasy. <br />Work your magic, <br />Before they take me tonight. <br />I‘m losing my fight, <br />I’m not an insomniac. <br />I’ll earn my bread and butter in the real world, <br />I’m no Hanzel and Gretel, <br />Gingerbread houses and wicked old ladies, <br />That take children away. <br />Screaming through worlds, <br />Without a soul to hear, <br />Never waking from sleep.<br /><br />Joseph Tanner<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/dreamcatcher-2/
