Two lions, carved of stone <br />are lounging at the entrance. <br />Thus overseeing life as it unfolds <br />that early morning bare of promise. <br />He leaves, his alligator briefcase chained <br />next to a rolex thus completing his attire. <br />Brushed silver temples framing tiny renal vein <br />and facial features of a man in noble thought. <br />And as he purrs onto the treelined avenue <br />he does not glimpse the farewell wave behind blue drapes. <br />Two kings of jungle stay behind and guard his past <br />not understanding why there cannot be a future.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/farewell-12/
