For Billy, going blind. <br /> <br /> <br />When darkness falls forever in your world <br />and seals you in the tomb of sightless <br />days, is there anything I can do? <br /> <br />Imagination fails. <br /> <br />It stalks you now. You are prey to the closing light. <br /> <br />Hounds of fear chase you in the bitter hours and for a moment you think the veil has fallen. <br />Still you wink and tell us that this slow seclusion will free you in some way. Some way we cannot see but reveals itself to you behind the black curtain. <br /> <br />Your words have sunk. Speech trips you up. <br /> <br />When gloom descends we'll send what light we have to spare. We care.
