A long-breaking heart has been broken, <br />No more painful words can be spoken, <br />No longer will I wait for you, <br />There’s nothing left for me to do… <br />Another love has taken my place, <br />Never again shall I see your face, <br />Nor hold you tightly in my arms, <br />Nor feel the warmth of your many charms… <br />The future is not looking bright, <br />And as I lie awake at night, <br />I find myself wanting it all to end, <br />I’ve lost my love and my best friend… <br />No one I can turn to now, <br />And I have no idea how, <br />I’ll make it through another day, <br />Now that you have gone away… <br />I’m grieving but I can’t find the tears, <br />Which have come so easily over the years, <br />Yet now on this, my darkest night, <br />There are no piteous tears in sight… <br />But there is something that I feel I should say, <br />Heaven knows I didn’t want it end this way, <br />You’ve taken my heart, to you a cheap token, <br />And you’ve left me here completely broken…<br /><br />Sheila Papaleo<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/broken-5/
