I dance even when i don't want to <br />I have many wants <br />Even more don't-wants <br />I'm just a lonely heart <br />Yearning for a beautiful ending. <br /> <br />People look at me like they know my life-story <br />They talk and boast as if they shape histories <br />Some people think they own the world <br />Some other don't feel quite belonged <br />They wish to leave this tragic kingdom almost immediately. <br /> <br />I'd like to think life is beautiful. <br />Would like to stop and smell every flower i see, <br />Would like to talk to strangers at the bus stand. <br />But i know, behind every smiling face <br />There's a sad story carefully concealed <br />There's insecurities neatly wrapped up. <br /> <br />So one day, i concluded, feeling pretty is a sin <br />I was told 'For every love letter written, there's another one burned.' <br />For every smile i fake, there's another life gone <br />So I guess i'd rather feel ugly and save souls <br />Would rather have darkness surrounding me.<br /><br />Lara W.A<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/feeling-pretty-is-a-sin/
