Small Tree <br />Thrown in the ground, soaked from top to bottom. <br />Growing every day, taller and taller, <br />Bigger and wider. <br />Soon looking out far as far as the eye can see. <br />Surrounded by the same and different species, <br />as days go by friends are made, <br />enemies aren’t to be seen. <br />Thrown down my leaves again but times aren’t tough for long. <br />As summers bright light falls upon my bear branches <br />Life is jolted back into my lifeless body. <br />The noise, I’ve never heard it before. <br />Its coming closer, people, machines, <br />There is no getting away. <br />Enemies are killing my friends, <br />I want to fight back but I cant. <br />It is hopeless, no light at the end of the tunnel.<br /><br />Marné Prinsloo<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/small-tree-deforestation/
