Soon enough, we’ll persist fond in memory <br />Or not so, depending; <br />I possess no Book of Life. <br />But still, quiet in the earth <br />Eternal silence – <br />Ironic, as we were once bullhorns <br />Of defiance <br />So and not so long ago <br /> <br />What happens when the boulders <br />Split the stream, diverging <br />To independent realities, <br />Now mutually exclusive? <br /> <br />In mine, I’m lost, seeking <br />That carving path, knowing <br />Only the approaching bay. <br /> <br />All this while I wonder: <br />Where have you gone? <br /> <br />So far diverged now, the babble of your waters <br />Eludes my ears, while my eddies <br />Spin apart in centrifugal dance <br />And I dance around the jagged rocks <br /> <br />Irony.
