It's been raining for over a day... <br />nonstop, torrential downpour. <br />The tornado watch has come and gone, <br />but it's still wet, <br />slippery, <br />and dangerous. <br /> <br />The air reeks of ozone, <br />and there's a puddle on the floor <br />of my room... <br />but I wanted to hear the sound <br />as each individual drop <br />gets sick of barely hanging on <br />to the ominous clouds, <br />and falls to earth... <br />a long, dramatic suicide <br />which only fuels my anger. <br /> <br />I started off Monday <br />by looking out my window. <br />As Karen Carpenter's vocals <br />invaded my sanity, <br />I attempted to remain positive. <br /> <br />I even played in it last night <br />and again this morning <br />while my insomnia <br />ruled my body and mind. <br /> <br />It was fun on Monday, <br />but it's now Tuesday. <br /> <br />My shoes got too wet. <br />Tap dancing at 3: 00 <br />(in the morning) <br />(in the rain) <br />is overrated... <br /> <br />I could have learned alot <br />from these experiences. <br />Nevertheless, <br />tommorrow night I won't be able <br />to fall asleep, <br />and it'll still be raining, <br />and I'll still be dancing in it. <br /> <br />But I promise you... <br />I will refuse to enjoy it.<br /><br />Samantha Bursich<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/rain-26/
