Looking through the window,
I'm urged to break the glass.
I hate their perfect smiles
And how they always seem to last.

They choose to simply ignore me,
When I'm screaming out my lungs.
They shut me out completely,
I'll never truley belong.

They want me to change myself,
To be more like they want.
All they do is critisize
My self-esteem is shot.

They want a mirror image
Of everything they are.
But I don't need to change myself
For a family I won't be apart.

All they do is push and pull,
To make me something I'm not.
Remember me? The child you loved,
Oh yea, you just forgot.

You're supposed to be my family,
You know I dont fit in.
I guess this is where I'm supposed to be
On the outside looking in.

Crystal Johnson

http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/looking-in/
