When we were together it was a beautiful thing, <br />when I was with you my heart would sing. <br /> <br />Holding my hand as young lovers do, <br />I was your baby and you was my boo. <br /> <br />You told me you love me, I told you the same, <br />not realizing sooner or later there would be pain. <br /> <br />Two kids that are not here, then next was more pain, <br />after that our relationship wasn’t the same. <br /> <br />No goodbyes or it’s over you just left me alone, <br />then I was left to sing a sad love song. <br /> <br />No longer were we lovers, but we became friends, <br />but I still loved you so I gave you a second chance. <br /> <br />We were lovey dovey, kiss this, kiss that, but something went wrong, <br />because we were back to where we use to be at. <br /> <br />A baby in the time we were apart, <br />but still you kept me in your heart. <br /> <br /> <br />Even after that we were still messing around, <br />not even going together, but love we still found. <br /> <br />But just like a cycle something went wrong, <br />then I found another guy and a baby came along. <br />But no matter whom I was with you kept me in your heart, <br />waiting for us to make that new start. <br /> <br />You still was my friend even if we wasn’t together, <br />that’s the kind of friend I need that can handle bad weather. <br /> <br />Having sex with him wishing I was making love to you, <br />wishing you were holding my body and kissing it to. <br /> <br />Lovers and friends we will always be, never to be parted again you will see.<br /><br />Judy Hill<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/lovers-and-friends/
