I am the God of Hedgehogs <br />It’s a living, though quite small <br />Yet still within my mood swings <br />Hedgehogdoms rise or fall <br /> <br />The spikey skin was my idea <br />a nose man did the snout <br />its colour scheme, traditional <br />as were the ‘in’ and ‘out’ <br /> <br />Mobility I did myself <br />likewise the feet or paws <br />The tail, a small sad victim <br />of the overspend on jaws <br /> <br />I think we got the balance wrong <br />between temerity and pluck <br />so the roll-into-a-ball response <br />was quite a stroke of luck <br /> <br /> <br />The size and weight? A safety net <br />I mean, how happy would you be <br />at a Hedgehog the was eight feet six <br />made by a larger God than me. <br /> <br />The brain we used an old one <br />I got it cheap some Garage Sale? <br /> one previous owner, hardly used <br /> from some guy called Dan Quayle <br /> <br />The eyesight was a bugger <br />I just couldn’t get it right <br />So I boosted up the sense of smell <br />And said don’t go out at night <br /> <br />But all-in-all it ain’t that bad <br />It came out better than the Bat <br />and let’s not talk about the Platypus <br />The Guys STILL rib me over that<br /><br />Bill Mitton<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/the-god-of-hedgehogs/
