As I was walking along the shore <br />An eagle came to me <br />He asked me to take a ride <br />He said it was for free <br /> <br />I agreed forthwith and on his wing <br />Took off to see our world <br />I learned quite quickly our course was set <br />As the agenda unfurled <br /> <br />We flew over west coast cities <br />Winging and banking some <br />He said 'Look at all this filthy air- <br />do you think I'm having fun? ' <br /> <br />I gulped at the signt of all the goop <br />Lingering in the air <br />He said 'Do you think your energy use <br />Is to us wild ones fair? ' <br /> <br />I shook my head and off we went <br />Headed out to sea <br />He said 'Look at the waves, back and forth- <br />Energy for all of thee' <br /> <br />We flew to a volcano <br />Spewing it's ash <br />He said 'The heat in the land- <br />Is an energy cash' <br /> <br />Aimed toward the sun <br />Before we started our fall <br />He said 'Look at that fire- <br />Fuel for all' <br /> <br />We flew to vast cliffs <br />With hard blowing winds <br />He said 'Use the air- <br />To energy's ends' <br /> <br />He said that clean air <br />They needed to thrive <br />If we kept with our ways <br />We all would die<br /><br />Ray Andrews<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/on-an-eagle-s-wing/
