Too much of desserts and of deli <br />Most often will cause a big belly <br />But one shouldn’t be laughed at <br />Hee-hawed and gaffed at <br />Just ‘cause his belly’s like jelly <br /> <br />A person shouldn’t be hounded <br />For having a belly that’s rounded <br />There may be no solution <br />For his constitution <br />That keeps him so very well grounded <br /> <br />Disallowing him sweets and his beers <br />Would most certainly bring him to tears <br />Don’t make him forego <br />That stuff he loves so <br />Just to end your jeers and your sneers <br /> <br />It would be so terribly cruel <br />To deny him his fattening fuel <br />Would it make him a winner <br />Just ‘cause he’d be thinner <br />And open to less ridicule? <br /> <br />It’s not intelligently based <br />To condemn a man for his waist <br />It just shouldn’t be done <br />It’s mean and not fun <br />And is really in very poor taste<br /><br />Stanley Cooper<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/belly-up/
