In the spring you may find me
sitting high up in a tree
searching for the new begining
as I hear the songbirds singing
fingers nibbling at the bark
as the moon begins her arc
beckoning the young and new
things in spring I like to do

Often in the height of summer
to the seacliffs I will wander
gazing out with wonderous eye
listening to the seabirds cry
sitting picking at the grass
as I watch the sun go past
sinking down behind the line
things I do in summertime

Autumn when I'm feeling clever
you may see me by the river
watching as she rushes past
hearing dippers gently splash
picking flowers from the path
as the stars start to amass
mirrored in the river flow
autumn things I like you know

As the winter comes in stalking
in the mountains I'll be walking
seeking peak and mountain stream
hearken to the eagles scream
catching flakes of falling snow
as Jack Frost begins to blow
wrapping seasonal dissenters
things I like to do in winter.

Charles M.
