What is this love between you and I <br />But a fable, <br />No solid thing. <br /> <br />If I could get it between my hands <br />I'd smooth down the roughed edges <br />And form it into a likeness <br />Of your face. <br />Or of the silver moon rising full <br />Under a blue night sky. <br />Or the closed eye, of a restful bird <br />Sleeping, tucked deep in feathers <br />And safe nook of tree. <br /> <br />But this love between you and I, <br />Its a story we conspire <br />Together day after day. <br />Whispering each following chapter <br />Into the ears of the other <br />As our moments collect in upon themselves <br />And arrange into verses <br />Of our myth. <br />A favorite bedtime tale, tucked under <br />the pillow our dreamy heads share <br />In slumber or in stirring. <br /> <br />And upon waking, we continue on <br />To engage one the other <br />Across the linens of our circumstance. <br />And watch our sweet work of fiction <br />Unfold it's intangible dance of <br />Collaberated narration and <br />Unimagined tenderness. <br /> <br />This beautiful love between you and I.<br /><br />Tara Crown<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/this-love/
