I woke up one morning, there was mist on the moor, <br />then I got this feeling, that I had been here before. <br />Could I find a happy answer, to what I was about to feel. <br />The day was sunny and blue, but everything seemed unreal. <br />Had I been here before, or was I just dreaming, <br />yet far beyond there was a bright light beaming. <br />Although the mist blurred my eyes, I could see a far distant view, <br />a view that I had seen before, but how could this be true. <br />As the mist started to clear, my mind began to wonder, <br />then in the distance, I heard a clap of thunder. <br />Yet still I knew, that I had been here before, <br />upon this bleak and misty moor. <br />I remembered the cattle and their young calves, <br />the scented heather, and the bridal paths, <br />and cold to touch, were the water streams, <br />were all these things part of my dreams. <br />Had I been here before, when I was just a child, <br />and I had a moorland vision, that was meek and mild. <br />Had I been here before, when life was grey, <br />and everything I saw, just faded away. <br />Now the mist is clear, and my eyes can now see, <br />clear visions of hope, life and tranquility. <br />I had been here before, but I had lost my way in life's turmoil, <br />but now my feet are firmly on God's Soil.<br /><br />sylvia spencer<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/had-i-been-here-before/
