Red runs down my face <br />And the night is filled with weeping, <br />I'm all alone in the street, <br />Not a single eye is peeping. <br /> <br />An orange shimmer from a street light <br />Acts as a spotlight upon my death, <br />A swan song opera <br />Along an asphalt theatre set. <br /> <br />Oh Christ, oh God, Exodus, <br />I climb the stairs of the church, <br />On the roof, just light and dust <br />And a thousand doves perch. <br /> <br />I let out a sigh, <br />So be it if this is where I am to die, <br />As the doves started to coo, <br />I crawled over to the ledge <br />And on the side began to lie. <br /> <br />Then the sounds <br />Of more flapping wings <br />They held my clothes, lifted me up to <br />Eternity, <br />And everything else the sky brings.<br /><br />K.
