I was sitting on my own <br />tapping my feet to music echo'ed on the wall <br />I lit a cigarette <br />and watched the couples as they danced around the hall <br />I sipped another drink <br />and like some apparition she slipped into view <br />she danced in front of me <br />her body swaying to the rythm of my shoes <br /> <br />I could feel her gazing at me <br />it was all that I could do but look and see <br />transfixed by her appearance <br />though I knew that she was far to young for me <br />I've never seen a girl <br />so fair and beautiful and then she smiled my way <br />my smile was unintentional <br />was flattered yet embarrased by her gaze <br /> <br />I beckoned her towards me <br />though I never really thought she'd come along <br />felt surprised when she came over <br />moving to the rythm of the song <br />she laughed <br />and then I guessed she knew the game <br />and wanted me to play it too <br />I found myself beside her body <br />swaying to the rythm of my shoes.<br /><br />Charles M.
