When I was a kid <br />I would shout <br />“Watch out, a bee! ” <br />Today while admiring the purple flowers <br />Growing alongside my home <br />By the deep green grass <br />I watched this bee doing nothing <br />But enjoying the flowers like me <br />He wasn’t a little bee <br />No, he was a big black bumble bee <br />It is just that today <br />I wasn’t scared <br />And as I watched <br />Two white butterflies appeared <br />Having a nice time <br />Landing on flowers and leaves <br />And I felt happy <br />Knowing there is this whole other world <br />Just outside my door.<br /><br />Connie Webb<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/just-outside-my-door/
