A Cat Tale..... <br /> <br />This Artful Dodger of Seriousness <br />Was emotionally scant and an Egotist. <br />Lost in self....exclusively! <br />Into the mirror, he'd mew...'Oh, dearest ME! ' <br /> <br />The aromatic lure of bits of Catnip <br />Was his only crave, till he slipped <br />Into the role of a Love Sick Drudge <br />For a willowy cat...'Miss Divinity Fudge.' <br /> <br />Enslaved in awe of this Feline Fatale <br />He counted the days up until... <br />Her Birthday Day was nigh - just a breath away! <br />' I'll be quick! ' mewed HE - (The King of DeLay.) <br /> <br />Whimsical pondering, while licking his paws, <br />Dawned an idea for retractable claws. <br />He raced to a canvass of discarded wood. <br />To carve a scene - that matched his mood. <br /> <br />With a s-w-i-s-h of his tail...1 - 2 - 3 <br />He painted the background, smartly. <br />The yellow gold hue of a Honey Bee. <br />Shining like neon - fluorescently! <br /> <br />His talons etched with accuracy. <br />Like Picasso, he scratched, cubically. <br />A path appeared. Then, tall Oak Trees. <br />Created by a scurry - of Claw Activity. <br /> <br />In berry juice, his paws were dipped, <br />Onto the canvass, he danced and skipped. <br />Along the path, pebbles were strewn, <br />While paw-prints became...Garlands in Bloom! <br /> <br />A Heavenly archway, he did draw <br />With agility in...his extended claw. <br />Adorned with petals, attached lovingly <br />With needles from an Evergreen Tree. <br /> <br />Catnip was glued - strategically <br />To cover the lawn and atop each tree. <br />Shadowing was soot, spread thinly. <br />A blossom of cotton - 'The Finale! ' <br /> <br />'A Portrait of Eden', en-wrapped in sunlight! <br />This noble gift was Divinity's Delight! <br />A sumptuous kiss.
