She's such a cutie, the neighbors would say <br />That little blonde girl with the curls, <br />So strange to see brown eyes with blonde hair, they said <br />I guess I was strange even then <br />My sister had black hair and eyes that were green <br />A beauty if ever you saw one <br />Even my father called her 'the queen' <br />But I was the one that was different <br />You look like your father, people would say <br />I guess they considered that kind <br />But I always wanted to look like my mom <br />With dark hair and eyes like the sky <br />But now that I'm older and used to myself <br />I like what I see in the glass <br />I may not be lovely, or turn many heads <br />But at least I'm a sensable lass <br />My father passed on a long time ago <br />His picture still sits by the window <br />And it tickles me now that I take after him - <br />It's the ones who are different that sparkle.<br /><br />Linda Ori<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/who-am-i-8/
