What Today Do I Live <br />I dare not judge <br />In the distance <br />The promises of my own integrity. <br />I dare not live <br />The life of myself today <br />With all of its intelligence <br />Beckoning intimately from within <br />The shadows of its own fallen dreams <br />As it detains of common interest <br />Its own intellectual behavior. <br />Calling and calling <br />Calling from the heart of my life. <br /> <br />My soul still feels <br />As I walk <br />As I sleep <br />It is the unknown <br />As though it is I. <br />Although it wonders <br />Beyond the seas of time <br />Beyond earths endings <br />And the unfalible beauty <br />Of all life has to give. <br />What Today Do I Live <br /> <br />My time is not my own. <br />My happiness is given to me <br />By the courage of someone elses joys. <br />My knowledge is given <br />By the erudition entrusted <br />Contingent of someone elses wisdom <br />Yet this that I am <br />I feel not like myself. <br />Neither of myselves perfunctionally <br />Passes through the gorges of life <br />To see the destiny of tomorrows fate. <br /> <br />For What Today Do I Live?<br /><br />Cecelia Weir<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/what-today-do-i-live/
