Little boy, <br />Draped in wildebeest hides, <br />Strolling barefoot along the river bank, <br />Smiling softly at heaven-light <br />That creeps through the canopy - <br />Tell me, <br />Who do you thank? <br /> <br />Who do you pray to, <br />Have you set aside a forest glade <br />To kneel at, <br />Where the gods can see you clearly? <br />Do you talk, <br />Do you sing, <br />Do you chant? <br />Tell me, <br />Who do you thank? <br /> <br />Is there a one god, <br />Perhaps a grand old tree <br />Or a mystical bird living atop it <br />That spreads its wings <br />And casts its shadow? <br />Or do you pray to the wind <br />And to the waters? <br /> <br />Or did you crawl into the forest <br />To escape religion?<br /><br />K.
