I know I did something once, <br />But what it was I know not, <br />I sat and pondered, <br />I sat and thought, <br />I will remember if it kills me, <br />Because I just have to remember. <br /> <br />I met a man one day while walking, <br />What we talked about I haven't a clue, <br />But we sat in the park, and talked til dark, <br />But only the Lord knows what we said. <br /> <br />I saw a bird in a tree, can't remember what kind, <br />Because I have such a scrambled mind, <br />It bugs me to no end, <br />Because my mind won't bend, <br />And let me remember what I did, <br />On any given day, place or time. <br /> <br />I put down my purse, and forgot where. <br />Now where did it go? <br />I found it the next day, after work was done. <br />But can't someone tell me some <br />Of what I need to know, <br />Just what was it I did, <br />An hour ago?<br /><br />Barbara Lynn Terry<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/a-scrambled-mind/
