I may not go down in history <br />I just want someone to remember me <br />Not perfect, heroic, or full of glory <br />I just want to be able to share my story. <br /> <br />Talkin' bout redemption, leavin' it all behind <br />Wonderin' when I'm gone will my heart's <br />Intent be something you find. <br /> <br />Page for page, dreams washed away <br />Orchestrated paradise couldn't make me stay <br /> <br />Never fails when we're ill <br />We contemplate, in this hand we've been dealt, <br />Are we holdin' the broken seal <br />Is our name on the infamous scroll <br />Was that the wind or His hand we just felt. <br /> <br />As a tear falls for heaven's sake <br />You sense the fear from within <br />Gently kiss my forehead and grab my hand <br />Scared outta your mind <br />Wonderin' just how much more I can take. <br /> <br />Squeezin' my hand, afrain it may break <br />Just when you thought you lost me <br />I gently squeeze back and then you see <br />Just how truly happy you've made me. <br /> <br />There's hope afterall, <br />You suddenly feel faint <br />Who's gonna catch you if you fall <br />You step out into the hall <br />Cath your breath and go for help <br /> <br />An hour later, eyes open <br />Yes baby, it's true ~ just as you were hopin' <br />I touched your face <br /> With every beat my heart stays at a steady pace <br />I trace the outline of your lips <br /> As you gently kiss my finger tips. <br /> <br />The nurse comes in ~ 'You both look as white as a sheet!
