So it's that drought again
And the fireflies flitter
Over those sullen seaside graves.
To remind you of past troubles
Withered and worn
By the ocean waves.

So those rainbow roads
Over the maddening masses
Are beginning to lose their hue.
To remind you that things may fade,
From those ancient pyramids
To all things shining and new.

So the hurt has returned
Sprung from the dust's upward spiral
And rising from the sand.
To remind you that I am here
Hurting, swelling, craving,
Always dying to hold your hand.

K.
