I came to a wood, <br />Wandering as aimlessly as I could, <br />I was tired, but no place to sit, <br />So I rested against a tree, <br />Wondering where could I be. <br />I heard a wolf in the distance, <br />But had no sense of resistance, <br />If the wolf were to come by me, <br />For I would be frozen like the tree. <br />After I had rested I continued on, <br />Still wandering aimlessly here and there, <br />While the tops of the trees covered the sun, <br />And did not know in what direction was where. <br />I finally spied a cottage, but no one seemed at home, <br />I knocked at the door, but all I heard was an echo, <br />And I opened the door to find a dusty home, <br />But I still had no idea where I had roamed.<br /><br />Barbara Lynn Terry<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/i-came-to-a-wood/
