Today i saw a butterfly with orange wing and black trim <br />It circled through the air learning to fly and it did sway and swim <br />I watched it alight on a daffodil a bright yellow daffodil <br />I smiled wide <br />cause now i could see it closer and see the flower from inside <br /> <br />Today i saw a caterpillar large and fuzzy and green <br />He was the largest fattest caterpillar i think i've ever seen <br />I watched him crawl across the leaf and even take a bite <br />I watched him closely staring at each little part in sight <br /> <br />Today i saw a blue jay fly into his nest and sit <br />I got too close and he squawked at me <br />My gosh he threw a fit <br />His feathers got all ruffled cuz he thought i'd got too near <br />I was so close that i could see the wax growing in his ear <br /> <br />Today I saw a gray and white bunny <br />A baby 2 weeks new! <br />His toes were small and his eyes were pink or just a pinkish hue <br />I got so close that i could see his teeth were chewing grass <br />i got caught up in the setting there lost in a field of green grass <br /> <br />Butterfly, caterpillar, blue jay and rabbit <br />Seeing them daily could become a delightful habit <br /> <br />All these things I saw today were only in my mind's eye <br />I saw them yes I swear I did <br />To you I will not lie <br />I cannot tell you how near to me <br />Or my God how pretty <br />I didn't see them 'Alive' because <br />I live in a concrete city <br /> <br />Perpetual misery <br />When nature is far away <br />Perpetual sorrow <br />Every single day <br /> <br />Beau Golden<br /><br />BEAU GOLDEN<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/butterfly-caterpillar-blue-jay-and-rabbit/
