My dear old Dad used to say, 'ya gotta e cruel to be kind', <br />and of that understanding I found very hard for me to find, <br />until into my life you came along <br />and I now fully understand the song. <br /> <br />I've learned too, that 'when in doubt, one should say 'no', <br />and to walk away, instead of accepting - 'tis a 'no go'. <br />As with the fish that is 'small fry', <br />I let you go - I now say 'good-bye'. <br /> <br />You are not suitable for me, <br />so I must set you free. <br />You are too much undersize, <br />to keep you would be unwise. <br /> <br />I set you free to learn and grow, <br />and another you will live to know. <br />I hope there is little pain, <br />as I set you free to live again. <br /> <br />So swim away my beautiful 'small fry'. <br />Dive deeply and live long - do not die. <br />Swim swiflty away, again to be free, <br />and always remember me - lovingly.<br /><br />Colleen Wright<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/set-free/
