When the night is long and my sleep is fretful <br />I go to a place where my mind flows free - <br />A distant shore where the wind blows softly <br />Sweet music of the ancients engulfs me; <br />A lilting, sad refrain that touches my heart, <br />Overwhelming feeling washes over me <br />I am in a place of soul recognition - <br />A long ago kingdom by the sea; <br />Brilliant sunlight kissing azure waves <br />As salt-sea sprays against the cliffs, <br />I stand poised on the edge of the world <br />With the wind blowing through my long blonde hair, <br />Long flowing white gauze envelopes me, <br />Bronzed skin warm in the shimmering sunlight, <br />Arms outstretched, head tilted back <br />Offering a prayer to the gods; <br />Atlantis is calling to me in my dreams <br />And I respond.<br /><br />Linda Ori<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/ancient-dreaming/
