I dreamed last night, again <br />the softness of your face <br />spoke quietly <br />through smiling lips to me. <br />There was the well known ache <br />of age inside my heart <br />when loving eyes, through tiny tears <br />and shadows, wave of lashes <br />invited me to come and sit <br />you offered then, (was it for me?) <br />your little hand and in a while <br />its partner, like a friend. <br /> <br />We sat and reminisced about <br />the past of our illusions <br />and made a pact with her, <br />the Cantadora of the underworld. <br /> <br />Thus through the powers and the wisdom <br />of the ages time was told <br />to stop and stay suspended for <br />a sweet eternity and more. <br />I woke to see the sun and hear small birds <br />and life had travelled on <br />for all the living souls, <br />few had remarked about the pause <br />within the scheme of things, <br />all knew that spirits had stopped by <br />and that another soul had opened up <br />its ancient heart with love, <br />a hand would always be for her, <br />to hold and feel its warmth <br />and steady her among the lifeless winds <br />that lurk among the shades of all.<br /><br />Herbert Nehrlich<br /><br />http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/for-tara-with-all-my-love/
